Patar Beach

Patar Beach, Bolinao Pangasinan

Patar Beach is the crown jewel of Bolinao’s coastline. Stretching approximately 500 meters along the northwestern edge of Lingayen Gulf, it offers a serene escape from urban life.  As you stroll along the shore, you’ll be mesmerized by the stunning views of the West Philippine Sea.

Patar Beach

Patar Beach is our second destination for this Bolinao Tour. We arrived here around 11 in the morning when the sun was shining brightly. Despite visiting on a Monday there were still plenty of people going out for swimming in Patar.  With its powdery white sand and turquoise waters, it’s no wonder tourists and travelers visit Patar Beach for a perfect escape.

Hence, Patar Beach is a public beach, so there are no entrance fees however, you need to pay for parking space. There are plenty of nipa huts for rent along the beach. Additionally, numerous mini stores are situated along its coastline where public toilets and baths can also be found. For those seeking adventure, the beach offers opportunities for snorkeling, paddleboarding, and beach volleyball.

The Lighthouse in Bolinao

Bolinao Light House

A visit to Bolinao wouldn’t be complete without exploring the historic Cape Bolinao Lighthouse. Perched on Punta Piedra Point, the lighthouse has guided mariners since 1905. The visibility of the lighthouse is about 20 miles at mid-sea towards the lighthouse in Poro Point in La Union.

The lighthouse is no longer working. Sadly, in late 2004 the beacon lights started to dim until it was finally shut off. Currently, tourists are not allowed to enter or climb the lighthouse. The Cape Bolinao Lighthouse is an ideal location for photography enthusiasts. You can capture its beauty against a backdrop of a dramatic sky and rolling waves. It’s a perfect spot for those wanting to experience both history and nature, all while taking in the stunning views of Bolinao! Additionally, the entrance fee is free.

Enchanted Cave

Enchanted Cave, Bolinao

It is located inside a private resort along the coast of Bolinao. The Enchanted Cave is Bolinao’s most intriguing attraction. Residents and tour guides believe that Bolinao was once underwater millions of years ago, based on coral rocks and fossilized giant clams found in the area. With a 250.00-peso entrance fee, you will get a chance to see up close this subterranean marvel, adorned with stunning stalactites and stalagmites, creating a mystical ambiance that lives up to its name.

Tucked away in the cave, the freshwater pool is a hidden gem with inviting, crystalline waters. Surrounded by stunning natural formations, the Enchanted Cave attracts adventurers and nature lovers seeking tranquility in its serene beauty. Before entering the cave, you will be given a helmet and a life vest. You will step down a narrow stair and mind your head. Please be careful with every step because it’s very slippery and I can attest to that. The estimated depth of the cave ranges from 3 to 6 feet, and it can accommodate up to 16 people. The cave is well-lit and well-ventilated; however, certain areas are restricted for tourists to ensure safety.

The Enchanted Cave Resort also has a medium-sized swimming pool with a depth of 3-7 feet. A small restaurant is also available to satisfy your hunger. Whether you’re exploring the cave’s depths, taking a dip in its pristine pool, or wandering the small whimsical park wherein one can rent benches for a picnic or simply hang around, the Enchanted Cave promises an enchanting adventure.

Camp Puor

Camp Puor, Bolinao

Puor means “Fire” in local dialect. Camp Puor is the newest tourist attraction in Bolinao. It became more popular due to its unique and Instagrammable structures, along with trending “hugot” signages that are perfect for taking pictures.
